Latest Purchases

Here are some of my latest clothing purchases. Some I made while I was in Chicago. BTW...I will post Chicago pictures soon. I need to figure out how to make a link to my Kodak gallery.

This I bought at Ann Taylor Loft...now on sale for $24.99.

I found this at JCrew on sale for $34.99 and then an additional 40% off. I also bought an orange, navy and grey.

The last 3 I bought at JCrew...full price. :( I was afraid they would sell out before they went on sale! Oh well, I was on vacation.

Girls Weekend!!!

16 of us are headed to the Windy City for a Bachelorette Party for one of my best friends. I am so excited to hang out with everyone! I will be spending most of my Saturday on Michigan Ave, shopping until I drop! Also on the agenda is lunch at Giordano's and some delicious popcorn from Garrett. Yum! We will be heading to Tavern on Rush Friday night and The Athena in Greektown on Saturday night. (Stacy is 100% Greek, hence the Greektown outing) All of my Chicago blogging friends, any suggestions for where we can go after dinner?

I hope everyone has a good weekend! I will post pictures when I return!

Back to School

I use to get so excited to head back to school, especially when it came to go shopping for school supplies! That was by far my favorite part! I loved getting new notebooks, paper, folders, pens, pencils. My sister and I always had an LL Bean Back pack with our monogram on it. I think I might even have mine from high school. In grade school, we wore a uniform very similar to the one pictured above. I still love school supplies...I have 2 sets of ultra fine point Sharpie markers, in every color. One for my desk at work, and one for my desk at home. My new favorite is the Sharpie pen...Love it!

Crazy Neighbors!!!

My best friend of 12+ years, pictured above with her adorable family, is having the worst time with her next door neighbors. She needs some advice/support...here is the story:

2 years ago they built a beautiful house in the "burbs". The cul-de-sac they live on has lots of friendly neighbors, except for the less than lovely couple right next door. The not so friendly relationship started almost from the beginning. Here is some background before the Big Blowup.

When K was 9 months pregnant, the neighbors confronted her, when they knew A wasn't home, because there was a piece of wood half way on their side of the yard. They were in the process of building a fence, and the contractors must have left it there. The conversation became heated when K told them that she could not move the wood until A got home. Due to the nature of that conversation, A told them only to come to him with any issues.

Last week, K was pulling out of her driveway looking in the rear view mirror, and he was staring at her, so she stared back. He then put his arms up in the air and said "What are you looking at". She told A what had happened and a couple of days later when he was outside, A asked if he had a minute to talk. A reminded him that if he had a problem with anything, to come to him. Basically as the conversation went on, his girlfriend came out and started in on them. Despite handling things in a calm manner, she began to make viscous personal attacks on them. She has grand illusions of being so much better than the neighborhood.

What would you do if your next door neighbor told you that she's glad that her home is her starter home, while you will be living in yours the rest of your life!?!

Shopaholic

I stopped in Ann Taylor Loft to grab a dress I saw online for a wedding in September, and picked up the jacket below as well. They are having a fantastic sale right now! They have a lot of cute dresses and skirts. Of course the dress and jacket I bought were not on sale. :( Also below are the shoes I will wear with the dress. They remind me of a pair I saw by Kate Spade, only I bought mine at Target for $19.99. I figure I can dress up the outfit with pearls...

P.S. Since I am only 5'2" the dress is not that short on me. BTW...I will not be wearing the jacket with the dress...Mom! :)

Wardrobe Swap

I really enjoyed Kappa Prep's post on If you had to trade your wardrobe with one person (real or fictional) who would it be? If I could choose to swap clothes with anyone, I would definitely choose Charlotte from SITC. I absolutely love her style! She is so classic! I found this fun website on How to look like Charlotte York.

Things You’ll Need:
A blow dryer and glossing treatments.
Classic clothing (shifts or pencil skirts).
Feminine blouses and tops.
Fine details on clothing (lace, polka dots or florals).
Polished accessories like thin belts and pearls.
A local jogging route and running gear.

Amazing Deal!!!

Would you believe I just bought this Lilly dress for $4.99?! I DID!!!! I was Googling some Lilly dresses I like to see what would come up, and this dress popped up on the Lord & Taylor site for $4.99! I couldn't believe it! I went through the whole check out process thinking it was going to stop me, since this is clearly a mistake, but I was able to complete the purchase. When it is all said and done, the total was $15.38. After I printed the receipt, I called Lord & Taylor to make sure they wouldn't charge me the retail price ($252) and they said I would only be charged $15.38. Apparently I bought the very last dress because it now comes up as out of stock. I am still a little skeptical...I will fully believe it when it arrives next week.

Lilly's Fall Collection

I love the picture above...and all of the new fall Lilly clothes. So many options...Click on the picture above to view the entire collection.

Tagged!

I've been tagged by one of my favorite bloggers, Pink Cashmere Cardigan to list my top 5 embarassing songs I like to listen to. The sad thing is all I had to do is look on my iTunes list! :)

The rules:
1. Link to the person who tagged you and post the rules on your blog
2. Share 5 songs you are embarrassed to admit to others that you like and tell why.
3. Tag 7 random people at the end of your post.

1. Bootylicious - Destiny's Child. I always forget this is on my IPod and when it comes on I get so excited! It is a good song to work out to.

2. Don't Stop Til You Get Enough - Michael Jackson. I don't know why, but I really like old school Michael Jackson songs.

3. Regulate - Warren G. This reminds me of going to frat parties and drinking keg beer.

4. Just a Friend - Biz Markie. Same as number 3.

5. Our Lips are Sealed - The Go-Go's. I know all of the words and like to sing it when I'm in the car by myself...I can't believe I just admitted that! :)

I tag the following bloggers, if you have not already been asked to do this:

Kappa Prep
Preppy Pink Crocodile
One Day At A Time
Brooke's Popcorn Addiction
Life is a University
The Preppy Lizard
Prep in Pearls

My sister (pictured above with Murphy) just got engaged last night! They are vacationing in Newport Beach and he popped the question on a boat ride. She is very excited and the ring is BEAUTIFUL! They are thinking of having a destination wedding 2 years from now. She starts Law School next month, and wants to get the first year out of the way before the planning begins. We are so excited and her fiance is will be a wonderful addition to our family!

Project Runway is Back!!!

Who watched the new episode of Project Runway last night?! I sure did! I love this show and am always amazed how quickly they can throw a design together. I will agree with the judges that the bottom 2 (Stella and Jerry) did a horrible job. I'm not sure what look Jerry was going for, but I would have preferred Stella was sent home. She used trash bags for goodness sake! She just really is not my style, so I don't know that I will ever like anything she puts together. Also, Blayne's usage of the word "Girlicious" has already gotten on my nerves. It looks like he is trying to be another Christian Siriano.

Magazine Addiction

My name is PITC, and I'm addicted to magazines! I have a slightly severe magazine addiction. I subscribe to the following magazines:
  • Town & Country
  • Paula Deen
  • Everyday with Rachel Ray
  • Self
  • Instyle
  • People
  • Glamour
  • Marie Claire

I also have a very hard time throwing certain ones away. I put them aside thinking I will read them again, but I don't think I ever have. I really only keep the Town & Country, Paula Deen and Rachel Ray. I get so excited when I open the mailbox and I have a couple of magazines waiting for me. I would like to add a "home" magazine since we are looking for houses. Does anybody have any suggestions?

1st Anniversary!

Today is our One Year Anniversary! Above are some pictures from the BIG day! The last picture is the "kids" table which kept them occupied most of the night. After the wedding we headed to Hawaii for 11 nights. We spent 7 nights in Maui, 3 nights in Kauai and 1 night on Oahu. Maui was by far my favorite island. Below is a picture we took while driving the road to Hana.
